ALOHA & HELLO
We are Gary & Courtney [Christenson]. This is our story (the cliffs-notes version):
We met while living in Maui. Surfed, scuba-ed, sailed, kicked it, dated and got engaged on the Island. We go back every year to visit the “family” that we formed while living there. Hawaii has a special place in our hearts, and it also has special powers (like the Island in LOST)… every time we go there something BIG happens in our life (it’s always GOOD stuff though). We got married in Dana Point, CA and partied hearty with friends and family. After a kicka$$ honeymoon in the Caribbean, we moved to a small mountain town in Oregon called Bend. Don’t ask us why, we just did. Adventure is in our blood.
We spent 3+ years in Oregon playing in the mountains, lakes and rivers (while also launching our award winning photography biz)… during one cold wintery night in January, we created a little baby that we later named Joelle Zoe. She’s the best baby in the universe. She was born on October 5th, 2008. She accompanies us on all of life’s little adventures.
In the summer of 2009, we purchased a casa near the beach in Southern California and made the move to San Diego from Bend, Oregon. RANDOM RAMBLINGS:
We love each other… a lot!!! We heart traveling to far off destinations. We take awesome photos of awesome people. We love working together and really enjoy being creative together. We love the beach a lot… but also really love the mountains. We enjoy shredding the gnar (surfing), and schralpin’ in the mountains (snowboarding). We scuba dive together. We like water sports of every kind. We listen to lots-o-music. We enjoy brewskis – we would choose a good beer over a nice bottle of wine. Unless the bottle of wine is full of top shelf Tequila… then Courtney would dance dance dance the night away with her booty shakin’ music. Gary once brewed his own beer and his face melted from the sheer awesomeness that it was. We like Hawaii. Bob Loblaw Blog. Coffee is the elixir of life (but working at The Bucks is not – personal experience from our past life). Family is our biggest priority (yes, even over work). We drive old cars. We are NOT what we drive (neither are you). We want 2 kids and we’re starting early. We’re a Mac kinda family. We shoot with Canon (sorry Nikon and all our friends who worship Nikon). Our guilty pleasure is ANTM and Project Runway. We want dogs someday (a German Shepherd and a Lab). We will spend the next few years remodeling our home in Oceanside, CA just minutes from the beach. Quality of life is more important to us than wealth or fame. We love adventure. Twitter this. Twitter you. Twitter your mom. If we could, we would time lapse everything we do on our little video camera. Are you seriously still reading this jargon? Bark twice if you’re in Milwaukee. We are Gary AND Courtney, we’re 27 & 26 years old, and we never take ourselves too seriously.
